Each year, the Maple Avenue PFT awards four $250 Student Activity Grants, with one grant available for each grade level. These grants are designed to give students the opportunity to explore a new activity they've always wanted to try.
Whether it's a sport, music lessons, art classes, STEM programs, theater, dance, camp, or another enriching experience, we hope this grant helps students discover a new passion.
Applications are accepted each year from January through February (Exact Dates to be given).
Students should submit:
A completed Student Activity Grant application
Information about the activity they would like to participate in
A teacher recommendation
Applications may be:
Emailed to president@mapleavenuepft.com, or
Given to the student's classroom teacher to place in the PFT mailbox before the application deadline.
Grant recipients will be selected by the Maple Avenue PFT Executive Board and announced at the March PFT meeting.
To qualify, applicants must:
Be a current Maple Avenue Elementary School student.
Apply for a new activity they have not previously participated in.
Include a teacher recommendation with their application.
Request funding for an activity costing $250 or more. Grants may be used toward multi-session programs or camps.
Use the grant for a program taking place during the current school year or the following summer, before the start of the next school year.
If applications are not received from every grade level, the PFT reserves the right to award an additional grant to another deserving student in a different grade.
Grant funds are paid directly to the organization or program providing the activity. Funds cannot be distributed directly to families.
Our Treasurer will work with each recipient's family to coordinate payment arrangements.
We encourage every student to dream big, try something new, and apply!
